Extended Living- Laneway Home
Project Brief- design a Vancouver laneway home as a proposal for “small-living."
This project looked to make use out of living plants navigate the intense constraints of creating a laneway home. Tendrils of productive flora grow around the structure to enclose an outdoor room. This buffer provides privacy, thermal efficiency and natural beauty to give the residents more rather than less in this small context. A fold-down wall acts to provide access to the vertical garden and a flexible extension the precious living space in a typology limited by strict building codes.
